Strength + Mobility Education Grounded in Science

Getting up off the floor, running a mile, or doing a back squat all reflect the health of your joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and neurology. Dysfunction in any of these can lead to plateaus, joint wear, poor movement, and eventually pain or injury. We help simplify and manage these internal systems through clinical assessment, soft tissue treatment, and individualized strength training— from rehab to maintenance to conditioning. But the key is education: the more you understand your body, the better equipped you are to achieve long-term strength, pain-free movement, and injury prevention. Rooted in anatomy, physiology, exercise science, and Functional Range Systems®, our clinic and training space are classrooms, and we’re all lifelong learners.

A S S E S S

We use objective assessments to measure your articular capacity in all articular spaces. Where can you move? Where can’t you move? How do you compensate? Do your joints have enough workspace? Is your active range adequate to your passive range? Does your connective tissue restrict articulation or force absorption? What afferent or efferent signals are present? These assessments pair with your report of symptoms and goals, and help us determine the appropriate treatment or training inputs possible to help you move more and better.

T R E A T

On the clinic table, we target deficiencies and restrictions through hands-on techniques and movement cues. We apply manual pressure to muscle, bone, and connective tissue while guiding you to move, contract, or relax— helping resolve mechanical and neurological barriers to joint mobility. Each session focuses on joint workspace, surrounding tissue tension, and motor control. While the work can be intense, most clients leave with relief, progress, and valuable insights for their body. The principles we use here form the foundation for all our treatments and training.

T R A I N

Time in our clinic lays the groundwork for better, pain-free movement. But it is only a beginning. Healing and full function take patience, consistency, and progressive overload. In a word, they require training– at any age, ability or capacity. Training is how we enhance joint and tissue performance in sport, life, and daily activities. Without it, we plateau, compensate, and risk injury. At Excelsior, we offer coaching and classes to help you preserve the progress made in the clinic and train for improved function, motor control, and injury prevention.
