Training vs. Practice

TRAINING is chasing internal capacity that we do not yet possess in joints, muscles, and connective tissue.

PRACTICE is using the capacity we've trained for to improve our current level of performance of the skills, activities, and patterns we use regularly.

TRAINING focuses on increasing internal capacity.

PRACTICE uses that capacity to create external displays of strength or skill.

TRAINING uses specific inputs at the ends of our ranges of motion to create demand for more space, control, and load-bearing in joints and surrounding tissues.

PRACTICE uses the general ranges of motions found in the patterns of movement we use regularly.

TRAINING is not your sport, gym routine, or activity; it is the thing you do to make all of those PRACTICES better.

TRAINING helps reduce injury in PRACTICE.

If you get injured or have pain, and you get treatment, TRAINING helps you integrate and keep those changes so you can get back to whatever your PRACTICE is.

TRAINING supports longevity in your PRACTICE, letting you do what you want to do, or need to do, for longer.
