Heel Pain Happens
OPEX’s own Kim Williams is a talented coach, mom, wife, friend, nurse, runner, hiker, and so much more. Heel pain has been slowing her down. Plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, bursitis? "Feels like an 'itis,'" she said.
Maybe it is. Without a scalpel, how can we know for sure? And, we don’t diagnose. We assess. Plantarflexion, dorsiflexion, inversion, eversion, how the calcaneus (the heel bone) articulates— bingo, Kim’s heel wasn’t moving. With manual pressure, we helped her restore movement to her calcaneus, and slide and glide in her Achilles.
Footwork isn’t easy, but she handled it like a champ. She instinctively added ankle CARs to keep the whole complex moving. She’ll wrap it with voodoo floss for extra tissue mobilization. That heel is now moving. She'll be sore. There’s more work to be done. But she got a good start.
Heel pain? Ankle Stiffness? Start with CARs. Let us help if you need more.
